Repair windows 7 shutdown problem


















Where did you download the installation file from? We have seen some downloads from third party sources displaying some very odd behaviors. If this version was downloaded from the official Microsoft website, how did you perform the installation? Was it clean or did you use the tweak to upgrade the original beta build ? Let us know. Did you check the system clock?

Everything else you mention looks fine to me. Windows 7 RC build should not expire yet. System clock is set to now.

I downloaded it from Microsoft and then I used the Easy transfer program in Windows to upgrade from the Beta. I used a DVD to upgrade. Everytime I step away from my computer, I get "unexpected shutdown windows".

I have tried everything to correct. How to I fix this problem? I spend hours daily rebooting my computer. I have Vista and Windows 7 installed. I thought if I could upgrade or reinstall windows 7 that might fix the challenge. However, windows came with my computer and I have no key to input for the reinstall. When you answer, please make simple as I am not an expert in computers.

Are you getting any error messages? Random shut down may be because of many reasons like hardware failure, driver issue or software issue.

I would suggest you to disable Automatic Restart on System Failure and check for error messages. Post back with the exact error message so that we can help you better. Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.
